Hostel California is located in the very center of the city (junction of Cara Dusana & Cara Urosa streets), so our guests can see and enjoy the real Belgrade - the places they heard of and the ones they will yet talk about. Most of Belgrade tourist attractions are in a short walking distance from the hostel.
A few blocks away is the Republic Square, the very heart of the city and the most famous universal meeting point for all. It continues onto Knez Mihailova Street, the major shopping and banking area, elegantly placed within old-time architecture walls, with charming book-shops, art-galleries, and cafés.

Find yourself in the heart of Belgrade nightlife! California is on a few minute walk from all major city clubs (Magacin, Baltazar, Basement, Anderground, Gauchosi...). The most popular city cafés and restaurants are practically next-door, in famous Strahinjica Bana Street, the only street that truly never sleeps.

Hostel California is located next to the legendary medieval fortress Kalemegdan, main tourist attraction and place where most concerts and festivals take place.
Towns main park and several ancient orthodox churches are very close, as well as the National Museum, National Theater and other cultural sites.
Just under the big Belgrade ZOO, and a minute walk from the meeting point of Sava and Danube Rivers.
Food & Restaurants
California is situated between the riverbank, well-known for its floating restaurants, and Belgrades famous gastronomic center (picturesque bohemian quarter - Skadarlija). Mega-market 'Maxi Discount' is in the utmost vicinity, as well as several bakeries and smaller shops.
Getting there:
Just 15 minutes of easy walk from the main Bus and Train stop, or just 5 stops by tram number 2 from the main bus stop and 6 from the main train stop. Just be sure that you catch the tram to Kalemegdan fortress, and not from it. After you get off, walk back to the corner (Cara Urosa street) and cross the street and you will find yourself in front of the number 37 & Hostel California. ..
